Message I just found that part of your post interesting and wanted to provide my take on it.

I believe you are well-intentioned with what you're trying to do but if you take away anything from my reply above, it's that the odds of a bad transaction with Z1 appear to be much higher than with other vendors. With money tight for everybody these days, this weighs heavily on consumer's minds.

As for overlooking anything good about Z1, I think I've seen favorable and positive comments about the Z1 Nationals posted here, so we all need to be careful with blanket statements on either side of the argument. But Z1 isn't the only ones under the microscope....Ash has been in the same situation as well. And the arguments run hot and cold there too.

I can't quantify the claim that they contribute more to developing Z products than other vendors, so I'll have to step aside on that topic. My opinion is that they do not contribute the lion's share. But this opinion is based more on products that *I* consider are meaningful to improving the performance of our cars i.e. fuel rails, exhaust mani's, dp's, etc. not stickers, racing pedals, or dress up kits. Once again, this is my definition of what I consider to be meaningful Z products. And in all honesty, I've always thought they rebadged a lot of the products listed on their site. One example of many: TP's, DP's - I don't recall seeing them say much about developing these parts on their own or how they are better than anyone else's. To me, it's brand management 101 by sticking their name on as many parts as possible. There's nothing wrong with that but it doesn't resonate with me; much in the same manner the GM takes a Subaru WRX and slaps a Saab badge on it (along with other minor changes to make it look like Saab actually did work developing the car) and suddenly you have a Saab 9-2x. Did Saab develop their own car and make a significant contribution to the automotive industry in this example?

I'll leave the rest of this discussion to people who have a larger stake in this. I'm just offering up my observations about why some people may be less inclined to patronize Z1 as opposed to it be a cult-directive by way of the tt.net members.
